Sector-5 is being developed as a city centre. Haryana Urban Development Authority is developing this sector on the lines of Sector-17 of Chandigarh. Apart from parks, it has large showrooms, hotels, shopping malls, restaurants, cinema halls etc. Traders are upset due to the closure of the roads here for various reasons after a few days. They want that the process of stopping the movement by closing the roads in Sector-5 should be stopped.

Sometimes Independence Day and sometimes Republic Day. Sometimes the arrival of the Chief Minister at Indradhanush Auditorium and sometimes the Panchkula Police closes the roads on the arrival of a minister. Earlier in September, the roads of Sector-5 were closed due to the police recruitment of men and now from October 11, the road has been closed for a week due to the recruitment of women police. One side of the backside road of HAFED office has been closed for vehicular movement.

In such a situation, the business of traders of Sector-5 is being affected due to the closure of the road. At the same time, a senior officer of Panchkula Police says that this site of Sector-5 is near the bus stand. Youth from other cities of the state are also coming to give physical test for police recruitment. It is easy for these people to find the Sector-5 site. It would have been difficult to find places across the Ghaggar sectors. The road will be opened after two-three days.

The road has been closed for police recruitment. Running tests of youth are being taken in the morning. Many boys and girls have fractured their legs after falling on this road. These tests should be done on any ground and not on the roads stopping the traffic.
– Anil Thapar, Businessman, Sector-5

Running test for police recruitment is taken at 7 am. This test ends around 9 o’clock. After this, the road should be opened for movement for the convenience of the people by 10 am.
– Nikhil Mittal, Businessman, Sector-5

The physical test is taken in the morning. There is no need to put batons for this. Right now the road has been closed by putting batons and by placing tents and chairs. This results in financial loss due to non-availability of customers.
– Chirag Kapoor, Businessman, Sector-5

Due to the closure of the roads for the last three months, there is trouble. The physical tests started here in the second week of August. Again in September, the road was closed for a few days. Roads are still closed. Business is being affected by this. Customers are coming less and less.
