The ruckus that broke out on the campus of Veer Narmad South Gujarat University on Monday evening after the police arrived at the Garba event continued on Tuesday as well. In Harsh Sanghvi’s rally, there was open violation of Kovid guidelines, why did the police not take action? In response to this question, Inspector KI Modi of Umra police station said that permission for the rally was taken, but the students did not take permission for Garba. Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar has handed over the investigation of the matter to the DCP. On the other hand, the police posted the video of ABVP’s Garba on social media.

Inspector: Students did not take any permission from police

This picture is of the state’s Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi’s Jan Ashirwad rally on Sunday. Which came out of Umra police station area. Why was no action taken on the violation of masks and social distancing in this? On this question, Umra PI KI Modi said that permission was taken for him. Activists had joined it after taking permission, but the students did not take any permission from the police to organize Garba in the university. Whatever happened is according to the rules.

ABVP: Policemen acted against the rules
More than 100 workers, including ABVP’s state organization minister Himalaya Singh Jhala, state co-minister Vritti Shah, protested outside the university. He was accompanied by syndicate members Kiran Ghoghari, Kanu Bharwad, professors and teachers. Blocked the road and raised slogans. Later, demanding suspension of the policemen, gave a memorandum to Collector Ayush Oak. The ABVP alleged that the policemen thrashed and abused. After that the workers also reached Umra police station.

Vice Chancellor: Police should have taken permission from us before entering the campus
Veer Narmad South Gujarat University Vice Chancellor Kishore Chavda also supported ABVP. He said that the police should not have entered the university campus without permission. If they had any problem they should have taken permission before entering. If action was to be taken on any complaint, we should have informed earlier. The police had said that the vice-chancellor had been called, but he did not pick up the phone. In response to this, he said that if he did not pick up the phone, there were other officers, they should have been contacted. The CCTV footage of the entire matter will be seen, after that the decision of action will be taken.

DCP: The matter is being investigated, action will be taken on the basis of facts
In view of the seriousness of the matter, Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar has handed over the investigation to DCP Kishore Barodia. NSUI said- ABVP deliberately spoiled the atmosphere of the city
The student body NSUI has also jumped into the matter. He has written a letter to the police commissioner demanding action against ABVP. NSUI has written in the letter that it is the duty of the police to follow the guidelines of the state government. Following this, the policemen went there. The police took action due to social distancing and overcrowding there. The ABVP has escalated the controversy by quarreling with the police and has deliberately tried to spoil the atmosphere of the city. If the case is not registered and he is not arrested then the NSUI workers will also agitate.
