Protest: People of Roorkee Pukhta don’t for Ghadua Panchayat

The people of village Roorkee Pukhta falling under Kharar tehsil are expressing their objection to the ongoing action of taking the newly formed Nagar Panchayat Ghadua by the Punjab Government. Villagers say that they will not join Ghadua Nagar Panchayat.

Kulwant Singh, Shingara Singh, Pyara Singh, Surinder Singh, Dalwinder Singh, Amrik Singh, Gurbaksh Singh, Baldev Singh, Darshan Singh, Bhag Singh, Raja, Omkar Singh, Yadwinder Singh, Paramjot Singh, Daljit Singh, Amrayo, residents of village Roorkee Pukhta Giving information to the journalists including Singh, other village residents said that we will not participate in the Nagar Panchayat Ghadua at any cost and they object to this action and we do not accept the decision of the government.

If the village is to be included in the urban area on behalf of the Punjab government, then the council can do it in Kharar, which we will welcome. The boundary of village Roorkee Pukta is along the boundary of Municipal Council Kharar. The people of the village have demanded from the Punjab government to reconsider their decision keeping in view the sentiments of the residents of the village and work should be done to include them in the Kharar Council.
