Paris, Agency. Two goals from in-form Kylian Mbappé helped Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) beat Nantes 3-0 to retain the top spot in the French league.
PSG is to play Juventus in next week’s Champions League match. Unbeatable PSG have 24 goals so far with five wins in six league matches. The French champions, however, suffered a setback when their Portuguese midfielder Witinha was injured during the match. Earlier, for PSG, Mbappe gave the team the lead in the 18th minute with a goal from Leon Messi. Six minutes later, Fabio of Nantes was shown a red card for his aggressive conduct, allowing the team to play the remainder of the match with 10 players. In the second half, Mbappe once again hit Messi from the center of the box in the 54th minute, which was declared a goal in the war review. After this Nuno Mendes scored in the 68th minute to strengthen PSG’s lead. The Nantes team could not take the lead or level till the last minute and had to face defeat.
Barcelona beat Sevia
Robert Lewandowski, Rafinha and Eric Garcia scored a goal each as Barcelona beat Sevia 3-0 in the Spanish league La Liga. Lewandowski has scored five goals in four matches since moving to Barcelona from Bayern Munich, while Rafinha, who previously played for Leeds, scored his first for Barcelona. Barcelona are now in second place on the points table, two points behind Real Madrid.
Bayern Munich draw against Union Berlin
Bayern Munich were held to a 1–1 draw by Union Berlin in the Bundesliga. Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker scored in the 12th minute to give the team the lead, while three minutes later, Joshua Kimmick scored for Bayern Munich in the 15th minute to level the team. Both the teams could not score other goals by the stipulated time. Meanwhile, Thomas Mueller entered Bayern as a substitute in the second half, equaling Oliver Kahn’s record of 633 club matches.
Manchester United halt Arsenal’s winning campaign
Two goals from Marcus Rashford helped Manchester United beat Arsenal 3-1 to register their fourth consecutive win in an English Premier League match. Simultaneously, Manchester United halted Arsenal’s winning campaign. For Manchester United, Antoine scored in the 35th minute and Rashford scored in the 66th and 75th minutes, while Bukaya Saka scored for Arsenal in the 60th minute.
