State Bureau, Chandigarh: The Punjab-Haryana High Court has refused to stay the inspection being carried out by PU to continue affiliation to private B.Ed colleges. However, after inspecting the colleges, the PU has been ordered not to issue an order to cancel the affiliation.

Filing the petition, the Self Finance BEd College Association has challenged the decision of PU to conduct inspection every year. The petitioner submitted that he is recognized by NCTE and as such the affiliation itself continues as long as he is recognized by NCTE. The petitioner said that the PU is to satisfy itself that the colleges are following the rules of NCTE. Every year the inspection starts to increase the affiliation. Yachts Association said that they are affiliated to NCTE. In such a situation, if any inspection is to be done, then its right is with NCTE and not with PU. After hearing the arguments of the petitioner side, the High Court has issued a notice to the Panjab University on the application and sought its response. The High Court refused to stay the inspection being done by the PU and allowed them to inspect. However, the High Court made it clear that the affiliation of any college will not be canceled without the permission of the court.
