For the first time in the history of 20 years of Chhattisgarh, the Public Relations Department has raised the flag of rebellion against any decision of the government. Department officials on Tuesday imposed a lockdown in departmental offices across the state. The officials did not issue any official release, information or advertisement. Only the Press Cell of Raj Bhavan and Kawardha District Public Relations Office were kept free from this lockdown.
Actually, the dispute is related to the posting of new officers in the Public Relations Department and its subsidiary organization Samvad last week. The State Government made an officer of the State Administrative Service as the Director of Public Relations Department. This thing went to the public relations department officials exasperated. The Public Relations Officers Association started opposing it. Their demand is that in case of non-posting of All India Services officer on the post of Director of Public Relations, a senior officer of the department should be posted.
The union says that under no circumstances an officer of the State Administrative Service can be made the director of the Public Relations Department. The officers’ union said, even in the dialogue, only departmental officers have been posted on deputation. At present, the posting of officers of the State Administrative Service and other cadre has been done against the rules. Officers and employees also protested in the Directorate. President of Chhattisgarh Public Relations Officers Association Balmukud Tamboli, General Secretary of Gazetted Officers Association Jitendra Gupta, Treasurer DP Tawari, Vice President Dr. BP Soni, Roshan Dhurandhar, Organization Minister Nandlal Choudhary, Secretary Tilak Shori etc. attended. Secretarial cadre of Indravati Bhawan, Employees Union, State Vehicle Driver Association also demonstrated in support of the strike.
Gazetted Officers Association also supported
Chhattisgarh State Gazetted Officers Association has also supported the agitation of the officers of Public Relations Department. The gazetted officers, under the leadership of union president Kamal Verma, worked by tying black bands. The officers of the Gazetted Officers Association have demanded the appointment of a senior officer on the post of Director of Public Relations. Kamal Verma said, there is no dearth of qualified officers in the departments. It is wrong to make an officer of the State Administrative Service as the head of the department. If this is not opposed, then state administrative officers will be appointed in all the departments. This will greatly harm the career of departmental officers.
demand for cadre revision raised
Gazetted Officers Association President Kamal Verma said, it seems that the number of officers of the State Administrative Service has increased. In such a situation, efforts are being made to accommodate them in different departments. In such a situation, their demand is that the cadre revision of the State Administrative Service should be done. If more numbers are found, such posts should be abolished to reduce the financial burden of the state. First class officers of other departments should also be posted on the posts of State Administrative Service.
