Public Works Committee meeting: Carpeting, re-carpeting of roads washed away by rain, 6 shelter homes will be built in the city

The condition of roads in the city is still not completely good. Patch work has also not been done properly due to rain. The Municipal Corporation has completed 92 percent of the road repair work, but due to the rains, the roads have become bad again. In such a situation, pending the work of making CC road, the work of making asphalt roads has been expedited. In the meeting of the Public Works Committee on Wednesday, different works of Rs 15.20 crore including road carpeting and re-carpeting and construction of 6 new shelter homes for the homeless people were approved in the city.

Carpeting and re-carpeting will be done in Udhna A, Udhna B, Katargam and Rander zones. Apart from this, 4 shelter homes with a capacity of 256, 392, 224 and 632 beds in Katargam, two shelter homes with 390 and 490 beds capacity will be built in Limbayat zone. Approval was also given for construction of new school buildings in Limbayat and Katargam.

Rohini Patil, chairperson of the Public Works Committee, said that with 86 works on the agenda, 9 additional works have been approved. An estimated amount of Rs 1.78 crore and Rs 15.20 crore has been approved for various works in the agenda. An estimate amount of Rs 5.39 crore has been approved for additional works.
