New York, AP. The Washington Post on Monday won the Pulitzer Prize in Public Service Journalism

which covered the January 6, 2021 uprising in the US Capitol. The Miami Herald was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for breaking news reporting on the surfside condo collapse, while the New York Times won both national and international reporting. The New York Times won the International Reporting category for reporting challenging official accounts of civilian casualties from US airstrikes in Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Other disciplines honored

In photography, one of the two Breaking News Photography awards was given to Marcus Yam, a Los Angeles Times correspondent and photographer, for his work relating to the fall of Kabul.

Tampa Bay Times Wins Award in Investigative Reporting for ‘Poison’, an in-depth look at a polluting lead factory. About the Pulitzer Prize

The Pulitzer Prize is America’s highest award in the field of journalism, which began in 1917. Joseph Pulitzer had said in his will to start this award.
