Punjab Police should focus on security of the state instead of chasing Bagga: Manjinder Sirsa

After a blast at the Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa has targeted the Punjab government expressing concern over it. Sirsa said the Punjab Police needs to focus on the security of the state instead of chasing Bagga. He said the Mohali incident happened a week after the clashes took place in Patiala, Punjab.

Taking to his official Twitter handle, Manjinder Singh Sirsa said that Punjab is a border state and AAP leader and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal “should not use it with peace”. Sirsa tweeted, “Sad news! Just a week after the Patiala clash, there is now a blast outside Intelligence Bureau, Mohali. In such a situation, instead of chasing Bagga, Punjab Police should focus on the security of the state. Punjab One It is a border state and Kejriwal should not use it with peace. Waheguru Punjab Te Meher Karan.”
In another tweet, Sirsa said he has been informed that the Intelligence Bureau was attacked with a rocket-propelled grenade. Further, he said that the grenade had hit the table in the Intelligence Bureau building. He called the incident a “serious security breach”.

Police started investigation

Mohali Police said on Monday, 9 May that a minor explosion was reported at around 7:45 pm at the Intelligence Headquarters of the Punjab Police. No casualty was reported in the incident and the police have started investigation. Police have cordoned off the area outside the office after a minor explosion. According to ANI, Mohali Police has not ruled out a terror angle in the blast outside the office of the Intelligence Headquarters of Punjab Police. Responding to a question whether the attack can be treated as a terror attack, Mohali SP (headquarters) Ravinder Pal Singh said it “cannot be ignored” and said they have started a probe. Ravinder Pal Singh said that the attack was carried out using rocket-like fire.
