New Delhi, Agency. A high-level Congress delegation will meet President Ram Nath Kovind on Wednesday morning to discuss the Lakhimpur Kheri incident and submit a memorandum of facts. The delegation will include Rahul Gandhi, AK Antony, Mallikarjun Kharge, Ghulam Nabi Azad, Priyanka Vadra, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury and KC Venugopal. Former Congress President Gandhi will lead this delegation.

Congress had earlier written a letter seeking an appointment with the President. The letter said, “The heart-wrenching incident of killing of farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh has shaken the conscience of the country.” What is even more sad is the open warning given by Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra and the crushing of farmers under a Thar jeep owned by the minister and his family. The farmers who were eyewitnesses have openly said that they were crushed by a vehicle driven by the minister’s son. Despite all-out protests and the intervention of the Supreme Court, no decisive action has been taken neither against the culprits nor against the minister.

Congress said they wanted to submit a detailed memorandum of facts to the President on the issue. Let us inform that eight people, including four farmers, were killed in the violence on October 3 in Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh. In this, the main accused, Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Kumar Mishra Teni’s son Ashish Mishra Monu, has been screwed. He has been sent to jail after his arrest.

The entire opposition, including the Congress, is attacking the Yogi Adityanath and Narendra Modi government and there is also a demand to sack Ashish’s father and Union Minister Ajay Mishra Teni. At the same time, when this violence took place, the Union Minister along with UP Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya was holding a meeting in Lakhimpur on that day.
