Let us tell you that the first solar eclipse of the year took place on April 30 and now there will be a lunar eclipse on May 15-16. This lunar eclipse is going to take place in the month of Vaishakh and it will be a total lunar eclipse, but the interesting thing is that the color of this moon will be red i.e. it will appear red like blood.   • A lunar eclipse occurs when the Sun, Earth and Moon are parallel to each other in the Solar System. The moon starts coming in the shadow of the earth and the silver gray color of the moon turns into a subdued orange and red color. After this the same process happens in reverse and the moon once again looks like before. The same process will happen on 16th May and the whole process will take about 5 hours and 20 minutes.
  • This lunar eclipse will be visible in North America, Latin America, Western Europe, parts of Africa and the eastern Pacific Ocean and will be red in color.
  • This lunar eclipse will take place on the evening of 15 May and will be visible till the morning of 16 May (16 May).
  • Before this, about a year ago, there was a total lunar eclipse.
  • On the night of the eclipse, the moon will appear about 12 percent larger than its normal size. But, only those who watch very carefully will be able to see it.
  • May 15-16 may be full of darkness, but there will be light light around the moon. Those watching from this light of the moon can also see the Summer Milky Way.
