The Bawal Road, which connects the Khas Project city of Rewari district of Haryana directly to the Delhi-Jaipur highway, will have to wait longer to become a four-lane. After getting the approval of the project, now the approval of the Forest Department is not being received, because 5 thousand trees falling on this road are to be cut. On January 3, the tender for making this road four-way was to be opened. But the clearance was not received from the Forest Department, due to which the work is pending. Now the date of opening of tender for the construction work of Bawal Road has been kept on 18th January.
HSRDC will get the work done
The construction work of Rewari-Shahjahanpur and Rewari-Bawal Road is to be done by Haryana Road and Bridge Development Corporation Limited (HSRDC). The proposal to upgrade both these routes was sent to the NCR Planning Board. A budget of about Rs 80 crore has been approved by the board for these two roads. The construction work of Bhadawas road was started by Chief Minister Manohar Lal on November 26 last year at Bawal rally. Tender for this route has also been allotted, but work has not started on it yet. At the same time, the tender of Bawal Road has not been allotted yet.
Forest department clearance required
Clearance is necessary from the forest department to make Bawal road four-lane, because 3400 big trees and 1300 small trees have to be cut to widen this road. Its report has been sent to the headquarters by the Forest Department. The tender process can go ahead only after the clearance report is received.
HSRDC DGM Satendra Singh informed that e-tenders have also been invited for Bawal Road in Rewari. These tenders were earlier to be floated on January 3, but now a new one has been kept on January 18. There are some problems now. Forest department clearance is not available. The file will proceed on getting the clearance. After about 1 month of this process, the processes related to work allotment will have to be completed, after which the work will start.
Highway travel will be easy
Since the road from Rewari city to Bawal is four-lane, it will take hardly 15 to 20 minutes to reach Banipur Chowk. The width of this roadway will be increased to 10 meters.
