Dubai, PTI. Afghanistan’s star spinner Rashid Khan has named his favorite five players before the T20 World Cup. He has not included the name of Indian opener Rohit Sharma, who has made a record of centuries in the list of five legends of this format. No batsman has scored more centuries in T20 International than him so far, he has made a world record.

Among the five T20 players that Rashid has named, apart from two Indians, one is the captain of New Zealand. So there is the name of former South African legend and a West Indies explosive player. Indian captain Virat Kohli and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have been included in the top five T20 players of the World Cup. He said that both of them have the ability to win matches for their team in any kind of situation.

Rashid also named South African legend AB de Villiers, New Zealand captain Kane Williamson and West Indies explosive batsman Kieron Pollard among his top five T20 cricketers ahead of the T20 World Cup. Kohli has scored 3159 runs in T20s with an average of 52.65 which is the best among batsmen to have played at least 20 innings.

The final match of the 14th season of the Indian Premier League is to be played between Chennai Super Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders on 15 October. The ICC T20 World Cup will start only two days after this match. The tournament is to be played in the UAE and Oman, hosted by the BCCI, from October 17 to November 14. The Afghanistan team has been placed in Group 2 along with the team of India, Pakistan and New Zealand. The names of the remaining two teams will be decided after the qualifier matches. Group 1 consists of teams from Australia, England, West Indies and South Africa. The other two teams from this group will also be decided after the qualifier matches.
