Ronit Sharma, a resident of village Ghilaud Khurd (Kheda) of district Rohtak, Haryana, won the gold medal in the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship. There is an atmosphere of happiness in the family on his brilliant performance.

Father Ashok Sharma told that in the Asian Cadet Wrestling Championship in Kyrgyzstan, Ronit Sharma participated in the 48 kg weight category of Greco-Roman wrestling. The final match was with the wrestler of Iran. There were two rounds of three minutes each in this match. In the beginning, both the players performed well and did not lose points. Till the last 40 seconds, the Iranian player had the upper hand and was leading 6-1. In the last 40 seconds, Ronit changed the course of the fight. He scored 6 points in the last 40 seconds and won the match by a margin of 7-6.

Wrestling started at the age of 5

Ashok told that when Ronit was about 5 years old, he started going to the arena of the village and learned wrestling there. After this, Ronit’s tendency grew towards wrestling. He used to wrestle with boys older than his own. As soon as he left school, he went to learn wrestling. Along with this, Ronit also won many medals by participating in the riots in the surrounding villages. After this, now Ronit practices in the gambling arena of Sonipat.

Ronit has won many medals

Ronit has won many medals before this as well. Gold medal in 48 kg weight category of cadet competition held in Chandigarh in 2021, won gold medal in Cadet Championship held in Ranchi, Jharkhand in 2022. At the same time, Khelo India has also won gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling competition.
