Mumbai, ANI. Former Indian team opener Virender Sehwag has questioned the way former captain Virat Kohli captained. Comparing the captaincy of Sourav Ganguly and Kohli, Sehwag said that while Ganguly built a strong Indian team by supporting many players during his captaincy, he doubts that Kohli could do so during his tenure.

Sehwag said that Sourav Ganguly made a new team and brought in new players. He supported the players during their ups and downs. But I doubt that even Virat Kohli did the same during his tenure. In my opinion the number one captain is the one who builds the team and boosts the morale of his players. Kohli supported some players but did not support many. The former opener also said that he will achieve even more success if Rishabh Pant opens the innings in limited overs cricket.

Let us tell you that Virat Kohli had earlier left the captaincy of the Indian T20 team and Test team of his own free will, but after that he was removed from the captaincy of the ODI team. After Kohli, the captaincy of the Indian team was handed over to Rohit Sharma. Kohli was India’s most successful Test captain, captaining the team in 68 matches and winning 40 matches. Talking about ODIs, he captained the team in 95 matches, out of which India won 65 matches and lost 27 matches. Kohli captained India in 50 T20 matches in which Team India won 30 and lost 16 matches. Team India never won any ICC title under Virat’s captaincy.
