Shooting of Zap jawan returning from marriage: the ambush criminals carried out the incident, angry people demonstrated on the road

A ZAP jawan, returning from a wedding ceremony, was shot dead in the state’s Sahibganj district. The deceased has been identified as Rakesh Ojha. He was posted in ZAP 9. The incident happened late in the night when Ojha was returning to his house from a wedding ceremony when criminals ambushed him near Kali Sthan Chowk.

Rakesh Ojha alias Guddu, 26, a resident of Purani Sahibganj, was returning home on his bike after attending a wedding ceremony in Kamaltola at night. He was surrounded by four criminals near Kali Sthan Chowk near the road leading to the gas godown. He started arguing with criminals. Meanwhile, Rakesh called his brother Gyan Prakash Ojha and informed about the matter. As soon as Gyan Prakash reached there, the criminals opened fire on him. Gyan Prakash Ojha somehow saved his life. Seeing his brother being shot, Rakesh clashed with the criminals. During this, he caught a criminal and shot him in the head. The criminals fled after carrying out the incident.

Road jam was done in protest against the incident

After the incident, Ojha was taken to the Sadar Hospital in an injured condition where the doctor declared him brought dead. DC Ramniwas Yadav and SP Anuranjan Kispotta reached Sadar Hospital as soon as they got information about the incident and inquired about the incident. The DC said that the police would soon nab the culprits. On the other hand, SP Anuranjan Kispotta directed the police officials to take immediate action to nab the criminals.

In protest against the incident, the local people blocked the main square of Ojha Toli on Friday morning. Sadar DSP Yagya Narayan Tiwari Inspector Nagar Division Shashi Bhushan Chaudhary is camping at the spot, as well as the police of three police stations are continuously raiding.
