Harsha Bhogle raised Ravi Shastri’s point when Bhuvneshwar Kumar was bowling for Srich in the RCB vs Srich match, ‘Ravi Shastri has suggested Kohli to take a break.’ Responding to Bhogle’s question, Matthew Hayden said, ‘Does Shastri say the same about Rohit Sharma, who has failed to fire with the bat in the current IPL season.’
He said, ‘Does he say the same about Rohit Sharma? I mean these players are playing cricket continuously. Definitely this tournament. They come so quickly. You take yourself to a mental level. Kohli has been brilliant over the years, so animated, so emotional. To come away from him though just for a moment and you are under pressure.

He further said, ‘You have to show courage. No player ever wants him to go to the selectors and say ‘sorry, I have to be out’ because you want to play. You want to be the kind of person who grooms the innings.
