New Delhi, Agency: SSB jawan injured after being hit by IED planted by Naxalites in Chhattisgarh’s Kanker. According to the information, the soldiers of Sashastra Seema Bal were out on patrol to protect the railway line extension work. During this, a young man came under the grip of IED. The Naxalites ambushed the spot and started firing on the soldiers after the blast. In retaliation by the soldiers, the Naxalites left the front and fled. The jawan injured in the blast has been admitted to Antagarh Hospital. From there he has been referred to Raipur after first aid.

According to Additional Superintendent of Police GN Baghel, about 150 soldiers of the 33rd battalion of SSB posted in Kosronda camp of Tadoki police station area were out on patrol. He was inspecting the security of the ongoing railway line expansion work in the area. Then the foot of SSB jawan Surendra Singh fell on the plant’s IID there between Tumapal village and Patkalbeda village, about a kilometer away from the camp. After the blast, the Naxalites hiding there started firing on the soldiers. When the soldiers retaliated, the Naxalites fled towards the forest. The injured jawan is a resident of Churu district of Rajasthan.

The injured were brought by helicopter to Raipur

Raipur Health Department’s Block Medical Officer (BMO) Antagarh Bheshaj Ramtek said that the condition of the injured jawan Surendra Singh is stable and he is out of danger. He suffered a serious injury to his right leg after being hit by an IED. Due to this excessive bleeding is taking place. Referred to Raipur for better treatment. The jawan has been sent to Raipur by helicopter.
