New Delhi, ANI. Former Congress leader Sunil Jakhar has joined BJP. He joined the BJP on Thursday. After joining the BJP, he said that leaving the Congress party was a difficult decision for him. Attacking the Congress, he said that this party has now become a party of sycophants. The former Congress leader suggested the party high command to beware of flatterers and take command in your own hands. Talking to news agency ANI, Jakhar said, “It (quitting Congress) was a difficult decision for me. Congress really broke my heart. The nation is bigger than any ‘family’. I have allegiance to my nation. PM Modi understood this and respected the spirit of ‘Punjabiat’. He further said that the coming days will be good for the BJP in Punjab.

Earlier Congress was like a ‘think tank’

Elaborating on the changes over time in the Congress, the BJP leader said that earlier the party workers were like a ‘think tank’ but now the party leadership only supports the views of those who flatter them. He said, “I have watched the party leadership closely for a very long time. Earlier Congress workers were like a living think tank. When there were cabinet meetings, it was like a super think tank. Where are such people today? are?

Congress is not talking about defeat

Jakhar further said that the reasons behind the results of the assembly elections should have been introspected at the recently concluded Chintan Shivir in Udaipur. Congress still has a chance to live in the present. He further said that the way the party behaved during the three-day Chintan Shivir, it was as if the responsibility of the country rests on the shoulders of Congress. During the meeting, instead of the recent electoral defeat in the assembly, foreign policy and economic policies were being discussed.
