Regarding its battery EV plan, Suzuki Motor said, “In India, we will introduce the SUV battery EV in FY2024 at Auto Expo 2023, with six models to be launched by FY2030.”
New Delhi:
Japanese giant Suzuki Motor Corporation has announced a big bang in the electric vehicle segment. Suzuki Motor has said on Thursday, January 26, that it will launch 6 battery electric vehicles in India by FY2030 as part of its growth strategy. Along with this, it will achieve carbon neutrality by 2070 to meet the target set by the Central Government.
Suzuki Motor Corporation has shared the growth strategy for FY2030 by its Indian arm Maruti Suzuki India on BSE. In which the company said that it will introduce not only battery EVs but also CNG, biogas and ethanol mixed carbon-neutral internal engine vehicles.
Regarding its battery EV plan, the company said, “In India, we will introduce SUV battery EV in FY 2024 at Auto Expo 2023, with six models to be launched by FY 2030.” Along with this, the company said that by FY2030, battery EV will be 15 percent of its total product portfolio, while internal engine vehicles will be 60 percent and hybrid electric vehicles will be 25 percent.
Apart from this, Suzuki Motor also talked about biogas business in India as one of its key focus areas. The company said that “However, we expect the Indian market to grow towards FY2030. We also expect the overall CO2 emission amount to increase despite the reduction in CO2 emissions from the product. We will try to strike a balance in the meantime.”
Maruti Suzuki India is the largest passenger vehicle manufacturer by sales in the country. At the Auto Expo 2023 held earlier this month, SMC unveiled the concept electric SUV ‘eVX’, which is slated to hit the market by 2025.
