Considering the condition of Australia, the Indian selectors took this decision. The four players who have been kept in the stand-by team include fast bowler Deepak Chahar, Mohd. Shami, spinner Ravi Bishnoi and middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer are present.

The 15-member Indian team for the T20 World Cup 2022 was announced on Monday. Mo. Shami was also decided to be included in the team as a stand-by in view of the fast pace of Australia. Although Shami has not played a single T20 match for India since the T20 World Cup 2021. It is believed that Shami can prove to be fatal for the opposition batsmen on the Australian pitch. At the same time, Deepak Chahar was also not given a place in the core team of the World Cup. He was also included in the Asia Cup 2022 squad as a stand-by, but was later included in the main team after Avesh Khan was dropped from the team.

The Indian core team consists of several spinners such as Axar Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, R Ashwin, but Ravi Bishnoi has been kept in the stand by players. Ravi Bishnoi got a chance in a few matches in the Asia Cup in which he impressed. At the same time, middle-order batsman Shreyas Iyer was also included in these four players. Now according to the ICC rule, if a player is out of the core team, then standby players can replace him.
