T20 World Cup 2023: New Zealand opener Dwayne Conway is happy to have added sweep and reverse sweep to his shots ahead of the World Cup in India later this year. New Zealand toured the subcontinent, defeating Pakistan in the ODI series but lost all three ODIs against India.
Conway, who scored 138 in the third ODI against India after scoring two Test centuries against Pakistan, said, “I am personally happy with my performance in the last month and a half.” I have learned to play spin in the subcontinent. I have learned to create pressure on bowlers by playing sweep, reverse sweep. We have a lot of experienced players in our team. Kane was with us in Pakistan with whom I talked a lot. Tom Latham has also played a lot of cricket in these conditions, so I got to know a lot from him.
In the third ODI, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill added 212 runs for the first wicket. Conway (Devon Conway) said, “It was very challenging for our bowlers. It was a batsmen-friendly pitch and Rohit and Shubman put the pressure on us. We also missed Tim Southee and Trent Boult.
