About Rajesh Gopinathan

Educated at NIT Tiruchirappalli and IIM Ahmedabad, Rajesh Gopinathan is a Tata Group lifer, which means he has spent his entire career with Tata since inception. He started in Tata Strategic Management Group in April 1996. He joined TCS from 2001 and held the position of CFO from 2013-17. After this, he worked as the CEO of the company from 2017 to 2023.

News published on BQPrime On his resignation, he said, ‘I enjoyed my long career of 22 years in TCS. I had the pleasure of working with the Chairman of the company, N. Chandrasekaran, who mentored me throughout my tenure. As CEO, working in this big organization for 6 years has been very satisfying for me. During this period, the company’s incremental revenue increased by $10 billion and market capitalization increased by more than $70 billion.

Who is K Krithivasan, who will become the next CEO of TCS

K. Krithivasan is currently the President and Global Head of the Banking, Financial Services and Insurance Business Group at TCS. Krithivasan has around 34 years of experience in Global Technology and has been working with the company since 1989. He has held leadership roles in TCS in Delivery, Customer Relationship Management, Large Program Management and Sales.

Along with this, he has handled important responsibility in setting up digital transformation, optimization and IT program governance. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Madras University. Along with this, he also has a Masters degree in Industrial and Management Engineering from IIT Kanpur.
