Veteran tennis star Martina Navratilova is known for openly expressing her opinion on social media. Rana Ayyub shared his picture with Martina Navratilova on social media. Recently, Rana Ayub is in discussion about a money laundering case in which the Enforcement Directorate has filed a charge sheet against him. After this, a walk war started on Twitter regarding Indian politics, in which Martina Navratilova also joined.
Rana Ayyub tweeted a picture of himself with Martina Navratilova on his social media account. In her tweet, she wrote about spending coffee time with Legend and how his ‘I got your back’ statement strengthens her and makes her day. The tennis star thanked Rana for sharing the picture and also said that it was a pleasure meeting him.
Coffee time with the legend, the icon, the incredible Martina Navratilova. When she says, ‘I got your back’, that is a reassurance that makes your day. The world is a better place with you in it @martina pic.twitter.com/ghDghmgIxX

After this a Twitter user commented on his message asking what is the reason behind tweeting such messages ‘India specific’. Navratilova in her reply said that she has been tweeting about India for a long time. However, the Twitter user tried to explain to the tennis legend about the current controversy surrounding Rana Ayyub.
You are a gentle soul … I read somewhere how you gifted a pair of shoes to a Wimbledon qualifier (your first round opponent, I think) … you have no idea what this Rana girl is doing back in India

The ED had on October 12 filed a case complaint against him in the special PMLA court in Ghaziabad. The ED, in its charge sheet against Rana Ayyub, alleged that during the investigation, it was found that he had diverted for his personal use a part of the funds of Rs 2.69 crore, which were allegedly collected for charity. The probe agency accused Ayub of allegedly using the money to create wealth for himself.

The conversation didn’t stop there as Navratilova showed her support for Rana Ayyub by saying that “she is fighting for fairness in India, which is no easy task for a Muslim and above all a woman. As opposed to in Pakistan”. True – it is not easy for Hindu people there or other religions.
Thank you. I always try to do the right thing rather than the popular thing…Rana is fighting for fairness in India, which is no easy task for a Muslim and a woman on top of that. As the reverse is true in Pakistan- not easy for Hindu people or other religions there….

The Twitter backlash continued, with another user tweeting, “As far as persecution of religious minorities is concerned, propaganda about India (you are a victim) by comparing it with its neighbors let start.”
Disinformation (you are its victim) regarding India starts by comparing it with our neighbors, as far as the persecution of religious minorities is concerned

Navratilova then asked the Twitter user if she voted for Modi, to which she replied that she voted for the betterment of India.
Did you vote for Modi?

Commenting on Navratilova’s question, author and political commentator Ajit Dutta said she voted for Modi along with 300 million others and also said it was the biggest electoral mandate in human history. However, Navratilova responded to her comment by saying, “Well, when you have a population of 1.3 billion that doesn’t seem like such a big win… You will always have the most voters but you sure don’t have the majority.” goodbye”.
