New Delhi, Jnn. Vivek Agnihotri’s film ‘The Kashmir Files’ based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits was a blockbuster at the box office. Despite the small budget, the film earned a record break. After making a splash in theatres, now the film is ready to entertain on the OTT platform as well. Simultaneously, a concert titled ‘Sounds of the Kashmir Files’ associated with the film was also organized on 13 May.

The event was attended by director Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri along with other composers and singers including Pallavi Joshi and Darshan Kumar, who along with Rohit Sharma were part of the film’s music album and symphony orchestra. Speaking on the occasion, Vivek Agnihotri shared his experience and said, “We performed the voice of The Kashmir Files and we narrated two stories of victims by Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi with a huge symphonic orchestra. There was not even an eye in that packed theatre, which was not flowing with tears. Even the staff of the auditorium standing nearby. While I waited backstage, I saw that they too were crying just hearing it, while not watching.”

He continued, “It shows that everyone is connecting with the pain and suffering of our brothers and sisters. The Kashmir Files was not just a film for us, it is our mission to share the stories of the Kashmir genocide in all art forms.” We have used this kind of musical theater as an experiment for the first time in India and we are going to take it further with many other forms but we will not sit till we know the full story of Kashmir Don’t tell.”

Written and directed by Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri, the drama features a stellar cast of actors like Mithun Chakraborty, Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi and Chinmay Mandlekar. Which was released in theaters on March 11, 2022. Now the makers were preparing for its digital release and the film has been released on ZEE5 on May 13, 2022.
