Umesh Pal, the main witness in the famous Raju Pal murder case of Prayagraj, was shot dead on Friday evening. Police gave this information.
He said that unidentified assailants attacked him with bombs and bullets outside Umesh Pal’s house in Dhumanganj police station area. According to him, apart from Umesh Pal, two of his security personnel were also injured in this attack.
Prayagraj Police Commissioner Ramit Sharma told reporters that this evening the police received information that Umesh Pal, who was representing a case, was attacked. He told that two security personnel were given to him by the government and they were also seriously injured in the attack.
Sharma said that Umesh Pal died during treatment at Swarooprani Nehru Hospital, while a security guard is on ventilator and his condition remains critical. According to him, the treatment of another security personnel is also going on.
He told that this incident happened outside Umesh Pal’s house. He said that the relatives are giving Tahrir in Dhumanganj police station, on the basis of which legal action will be taken.
The Commissioner of Police said that eight to ten teams have been set up to investigate the matter and these teams have gone to different places. He told that on the basis of CCTV footage, it is being ascertained that what was the number of attackers.
It is noteworthy that Raju Pal was the MLA of Bahujan Samaj Party and he was murdered in 2005.
