Jagran Correspondent, Gurugram: Kalagram in association with SPIC MACAY organized a lecture at Dronacharya Government College. Padmashree Shovana Narayan delivered the lecture in this. Students also asked many questions related to art. While felicitating the artists, Principal of the college Virendra Singh Antil said that it is a matter of honor and privilege for us to host a great artist like Shovana Narayan. Shilpa Sonal, President of SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture among Youth) Gurugram Chapter, said that it is essential for the students to develop a strong understanding and knowledge about the art forms and culture of the history of India.
Dr. Virendra Antil informed that under the ‘Azadi Ke Amrit Mahotsav’, Kalagram – Society for Fine Art Initiatives Gurugram has started an art education project in collaboration with the district administration and the Municipal Corporation.
District Deputy Commissioner Dr. Yash Garg said that in the last few years, a lot of efforts have been made by the District Administration and Municipal Corporation to create a conducive environment for art in the district. Formed for the promotion and dissemination of fine arts education, Kalagram strives to provide accessible opportunities to students of all backgrounds and to nurture their talents and aspirations. Jasan, Gurugram: Digital collection is being prepared in the district under the Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi, which started to celebrate the 75th anniversary of independence. To prepare this, the district administration has sought factual information from the general public regarding the information of such anonymous heroes and places related to freedom along with documents, so that their stories and stories of sacrifice can be collected. The deadline for this has been given till November 25.
Such documents have to be delivered to the Information and Public Relations Officer’s office. He informed that committees have been constituted at the district and state level to prepare the digital collection. A committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Yash Garg for the digital collection being made at the district level. In this, the chief guest Association of Indian Universities Secretary General Dr. Pankaj Mittal informed the girl students about women’s safety. Giving the message of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, he said that it is a matter of pride that women are working in every field. We have to end the evils like female feticide, dowry system. The Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. OP Kalra said that the university appreciates the Beti Bachao- Beti Padhao initiative by the state government. The students and teachers of the university from time to time visit various villages and cities for the purpose of education among the villagers and make them aware about the education of girls.
