New Delhi, Jnn. Artist Arvind Trivedi, who played the role of Ravana in Ramanand Sagar’s hugely popular serial Ramayana, passed away last week. About 10 days before Dussehra, the demise of Dashanan of the screen shocked the cast and fans of Ramayana. Sunil Lahiri, who played Laxman, was very close to Arvind Trivedi and had a close relationship with him in real life. This is the reason that even a week after his death, Sunil is remembering Arvind Trivedi and sharing the moments spent with him with his fans through pictures.

Let us tell you, 83-year-old Arvind Trivedi died of a heart attack on the night of 5 October. Arvind was not healthy for a long time. Arvind Trivedi was a well-known artist of the Gujarati entertainment industry. In a career spanning almost 40 years, he worked in many films and serials. He was 49 years old at the time of telecast of Ramayana in 1987-88. Apart from Ramayana, Arvind Trivedi also worked in serials Vikram and Betaal and Vishwamitra. Arun Govil played the lead roles in both of these.

Arvind Trivedi also played a political innings. In 1991, he reached Parliament after winning the election on a BJP ticket. In 2002, he was appointed as the chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Arvind Trivedi made his debut in English cinema with Paraya Dhan, which was released in 1971. The film starred Rakesh Roshan, Hema Malini and Balraj Sahni in lead roles. Arvind Trivedi was away from the glare of films and TV for a long time. He was last seen in a Gujarati film in 1998.
