New Delhi, Online Desk. After beating New Zealand in the T20 series, the Indian team went to play in the two-Test series on Thursday. This is Rahul Dravid’s first Test series with Team India as a regular head coach. In the first Test match of the series being played in Kanpur, the playing XI that the Indian team fielded includes four players who also played in the coach’s last Test.

Indian team won the toss and elected to bat against New Zealand at Green Park ground in Kanpur. Captain Ajinkya Rahane may not have played a big innings but debutant Shreyas Iyer won everyone’s heart with his batting. At the end of the first day of the match, India had scored 258 for 4 wickets. Iyer was playing on 75 while Ravindra Jadeja was scoring 50.

Four players played with Dravid in the last test

On Thursday, four players were included in Team India’s playing with Dravid when he played his last Test match. Team India’s coach played this match against Australia in Adelaide from January 24 to 28. In this match, Umesh Yadav was part of the team along with wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha, spinner R Ashwin and fast bowler Ishant Sharma, who came against New Zealand.

Dravid had abruptly retired

After returning from the tour of Australia, former Indian legend Rahul Dravid had just announced his retirement one day. His tour of Australia was very poor in which he could score only 194 runs in 8 innings. Dravid got clean bowled 6 times out of these 8 innings. After getting out like this, questions were being raised on him. On 9 March 2012, a few days after returning to India, he announced his retirement from international cricket. Dravid had already said goodbye to ODI and T20 cricket.
