New Delhi, Jnn. Sometimes a particular player joins a team, then the fate of that team also changes. This time in IPL, a similar coincidence has been seen between Venkatesh Iyer and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). KKR’s team was at the seventh position with two wins and five losses in seven matches in the first leg played in India of the current season and it looked very difficult to reach the playoffs, but Venkatesh Iyer got the opportunity as soon as he got the chance. Luck changed.

KKR did not play Venkatesh Iyer in a single match in their seven matches of the first leg. In such a situation, when the second leg started in the UAE, KKR fed Venkatesh, who was bought for a base price of Rs 20 lakh, in every match. The result was that Venkatesh not only performed brilliantly, KKR’s fortunes also changed and they made it to the playoffs in the UAE stage by winning five out of seven matches. Not only did he make it to the playoffs, but Kolkata has made the way to the final of IPL 2021.

Kolkata may have qualified in the IPL 2021 playoffs due to a better net run rate, but after that the team showed that the team deserved it. In the Eliminator match too, KKR defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore in a close match and now beat Delhi Capitals by three wickets in the second qualifier match played in Sharjah on Wednesday to register their seventh win in nine matches in the UAE leg and enter the final, Where the team will face Chennai Super Kings on October 15.

In this match, Venkatesh Iyer scored 55 runs in 41 balls with the help of four fours and three sixes. However, the match seemed to be going in Delhi’s bag at the last minute with KKR falling for six wickets in seven runs, but Rahul Tripathi hit a six in the fifth ball of the last over to take KKR to the final. Kolkata’s victory at one point in the low scoring match seemed easy, but Delhi continued to get wickets and the match went on till the last over.

Talking about Venkatesh Iyer, he is at number 17 in the list of highest run scorers in IPL 2021, as he has played only 9 matches. While remaining unbeaten once in these 9 matches, he has scored a total of 320 runs, in which his best score is 67 runs. Even though he scored runs at a strikerate of 125, these runs have been very important for KKR. He has also scored three half-centuries this season.
