New Delhi, Online Desk. The Indian team has started the Thomas Cup final being played in Bangkok with a win. India defeated Germany 5-0 in the opening tie. India’s youth sensation Lakshya Sen won his match first in this Group C tie. Although Lakshya was behind in the opening moments of the match, he made a spectacular comeback to give India a 1-0 lead, beating world No. 64 Max Weijkirchen 21-16, 21-13.

In the second match, the Indian pair of Chirag Shetty and Satwiksai Raj Rankireddy had to work a little harder against the German pair of Rafe Jansen and Marvin Seidl. Despite losing the first game, the pair won the match 21-15, 10-21, 21-13 to extend India’s lead to 2-0. After that, India’s star badminton player Kidambi Srikanth also won his match to make India’s lead 3-0. He defeated Kai Shafer. Srikanth won this match with a scoreline of 18-21, 21-9, 21-11.

Then in the fourth match of the tie, in the first game the Indian pair MR. Arjun/Dhruv Kapila struggled a bit but won the second game easily to make India 4-0. He defeated his opponents 25-23, 21-15. In another match, India’s HS Prannoy defeated Mathias Kichlitz 21-9, 21-9 in straight games to give India a 5-0 clean sweep over Germany in the opening match of the Group C Thomas Cup.
