Thomas Cup 2022: India’s men’s badminton team created history by winning the Thomas Cup 2022 on Sunday. India achieved this feat by defeating 14-time champion Indonesia by a margin of 3-0 in the final. In the third match of the final, Kidambi Srikanth defeated Jonathan Christie to give India its first Thomas Cup title. The day began with Lakshya Sen winning the men’s singles match, while Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty won the men’s doubles match against Mohammad Ahsan and Kevin Sanjay Sukamuljo.

Meanwhile, the Badminton Association of India (BAI) on its official Twitter handle after India’s win congratulated the Indian team for creating history. Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi also congratulated the badminton team on this grand victory.
