Justice A. S. Gadkari and Justice PD Naik asked the actor and his wife to try to resolve their differences regarding the children.
New Delhi:
The Bombay High Court on Friday suggested actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui and his wife to try to resolve their differences related to their two minor children. Siddiqui had filed a habeas corpus petition in the high court seeking a direction to inform his estranged wife Zainab about the whereabouts of their 12-year-old daughter and seven-year-old son. Justice A. S. Gadkari and Justice PD Naik asked the actor and his wife to try to resolve their differences regarding the children.
The court said, “He (Siddiqui) is only concerned about his children and their education. talk with each other. If this work can be done then it would be good to settle the matter amicably.” Advocate Pradeep Thorat, appearing for Siddiqui, told the court that the actor was not aware of the whereabouts of his children. Thorat said, “The petitioner (Siddiqui) thought that his children were in Dubai. But they have now received a mail from the children’s school that they are not attending their classes.
He said that the actor’s wife came to India from Dubai in November 2022 without children. He told that the woman and her children are permanent residents of Dubai. The bench asked Zainab’s lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui where are the actor’s children. Rizwan Siddiqui told the court that the children were with their biological mother and did not want to go back to Dubai. The lawyer said, “Both the children want to live in India with their mother. They want to continue their education here.” The bench then asked the actor’s wife to inform the court by next week what they have decided regarding the children’s education. The bench fixed March 3 as the date of next hearing of the case.
