Rishi Sunak Fined By Police: British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has been fined by the British police for not wearing a seat belt in a moving car. The Prime Minister was seen without a seatbelt while making a video for social media inside a moving car. On Friday, Lancashire Police announced that they are fining the British Prime Minister and sending him a notice for flouting traffic rules.
This incident has not happened for the first time with British Government Rishi Sunak. It is the second time in the last 12 months that he has been fined. Earlier, Sunak was fined by the Metropolitan Police for attending Downing Street parties during the coronavirus lockdown.
Police said on Friday that “you may be aware that a video is going viral on social media, in which a person (Sunak) can be seen as a passenger in a moving car without a seat belt.” Describing Sunak as ‘a 42-year-old man from London’, the police said that “after looking into the matter, we fined a 42-year-old man from London today.
However, the police did not reveal the amount of fine they imposed on Sunak. However, The Guardian reported that under UK traffic law, drivers and passengers can be fined up to £500 for not wearing a seatbelt in a moving car.
An Instagram story that led to a fine
