Controversy is increasing these days on Ramcharit Manas. After the objectionable statement of Bihar Education Minister Chandrashekhar, the BJP is besieging him from all sides. In this episode, Union Minister Giriraj Singh has said that ‘speaking against the holy book of Hindus has become fashionable in today’s time’.
On Ramcharit Manas in Patna, Union Minister Giriraj Singh said, “Just as Bhagvad Gita is the holy book of Hindus, similarly Quran is the holy book of Muslims. No one talks about Quran because the head is separated from the body. It has become fashionable in today’s time to speak against the scripture.”
On one hand Bihar’s deputy CM defended the RJD minister and said that this is a democratic country and everyone has the right to present his stand here. At the same time, CM Nitish said that we have already asked to withdraw the statement, what else should I do.
On one hand, where there is a dispute over Ramcharitmanas, on the other hand, there seems to be a dent in JD(U). JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha said that the party is getting weaker but Nitish Kumar is not accepting the truth. Talking to the media today, JDU leader Upendra Kushwaha said, “JDU is getting weak now but the party is not accepting this truth. I am trying to strengthen it but people are trying to prove me wrong.” Our party itself went with the BJP several times and then parted ways. And if I ever leave, is there any point in discussing it?”
