Apart from gheraoing the residence of Punjab Chief Minister on October 15, the day of Dussehra, Dussehra will be celebrated by burning effigies of Ravana on the streets of Kharar on behalf of the teachers union for their demands. This announcement was made on behalf of the leaders of the raw teachers union district Mohali. Union leaders said that on this day a state level rally would also be organized on behalf of the raw teachers from across Punjab at Kharar.
The teachers said that they have been putting up a firm front for the last 118 days in front of the Punjab School Education Board, Mohali regarding their demands, but there is no hearing from the government and the education department. He has been teaching children in different schools of Punjab for 18 years at very low salary.
Union leaders informed that 13,000 teachers of different cadres are doing duty in the education department in Punjab. He has demanded that the recruitment of 8393 posts lying vacant for a long time should be completed soon by taking the examination. The union leaders said that if our demands are not accepted, we will try to wake up the government by organizing various protests in the coming days.
