All the opposition parties are laying their boards to defeat the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in the 2022 Uttar Pradesh Assembly Elections. In this election season, Samajwadi Party and Rashtriya Lok Dal (SP-RLD Alliance) have made preparations to enter the fray together again. However, the churning is going on between the two parties, from alliance to seat-sharing, to have a proper coordination. In this regard, Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Jayant Chaudhary met Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav in Lucknow on Tuesday, in which the alliance and seat-sharing were discussed.

However, no official information has been received from both the parties yet. If sources are to be believed, the talk of the alliance has progressed a bit. If sources are to be believed, there is a churning going on between SP and RLD regarding several assembly seats including Mathura, Bulandshahr and Muzaffarnagar. Both the parties have their own claims on these assembly seats. To talk about all this and to finalize the alliance, Jayant Chaudhary met Akhilesh Yadav on the previous day.

Sources said that Jayant Chaudhary was demanding 35-40 seats from the Samajwadi Party under the alliance. However, after several rounds of talks, RLD is likely to get close to 30 seats. On the other hand, SP can get Lok Dal candidates to fight on its symbol in 5-6 seats. Sources also said that after Tuesday’s meeting, Jayant Chaudhary has moved to Delhi. There will be one more last meeting when Jayant Choudhary comes back to Lucknow. After this, both the parties will formally announce the alliance and seat sharing through a joint press conference.

It is noteworthy that after the death of Chaudhary Ajit Singh, the reins of Rashtriya Lok Dal have now come on the shoulders of Jayant Chaudhary. Jayant has made up his mind to fight the assembly elections with the SP this time. The Lok Dal is having the best hold among the Jat community. In such a situation, even Akhilesh Yadav is not hesitant to bring Lok Dal together. The scenario is changing after the return of the agricultural law. In view of this, care is also being taken between the two parties regarding the alliance.
