In a village under Charthaval police station area of ​​Muzaffarnagar district, angry at the refusal of Dalits to harvest wheat crop, the former village head made a statement on May 9 that they (Dalits) would not enter his field, otherwise they would have to wear shoes fifty times. He will be beaten up and will have to pay a fine of five thousand rupees.

In this case, two people including the former village head were arrested and sent to jail after completing the legal process. Taking cognizance of the matter, Dr. Anju Bala, a member of the National Commission for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, visited Paoti village on Monday. He met people and inquired about the incident. Some Dalits alleged before the commission member that former village head Rajbir Tyagi imposed a fine of six thousand rupees each on six Dalit women for cutting grass in their fields seven years ago. Suggesting a written complaint, the member assured that if they lodge a complaint, they will get justice.

The member of the commission said that she is satisfied with the action of the administration against the accused and if more action is needed, it will be done. She said that she will give her factual report to the chairman of the commission. It is worth noting that the incident took place on May 9 in Paoti Khurd village of Charthaval area and a video of a man beating a drum and making an announcement went viral on social media. This person was doing Munadi on behalf of the former head.

An announcement was made by Rajbir Tyagi, the former village head of Paoti Khurd, that whoever enters his field and tubewell will be beaten up with shoes fifty times and fined five thousand rupees. Rajveer Tyagi is the father of notorious gangster Vicky Tyagi. Vikrant Tyagi alias Vicky Tyagi was murdered in 2015 during his court appearance. Senior Superintendent of Police Abhishek Yadav had told that after the video of such a Munadi surfaced, the police arrested Rajbir Tyagi and Kunwarpal and sent them to jail for the entire legal process.
