Mumbai, ANI. Railways has given special facility to the local passengers who have been vaccinated. Giving information about this, Anil Kumar Lahoti, General Manager, Central Railway said that the Railways has integrated the UTS mobile app with the Universal Pass of the Government of Maharashtra, which will allow fully immunized local passengers to book tickets on their phones. . The UTS app is already available for Android and the iOS app will be available by tonight. This facility of UTS app for local train pass can be used from tomorrow morning onwards.

Eight new AC services of local train started in Mumbai

On the other hand, eight more air-conditioned local train services have started in Western Railway (WR) Mumbai from Monday, taking the total number of local trains to 20. For the convenience of passengers, eight new AC services will be introduced in the suburban section of Western Railway, taking the number of AC services to 20, an official said. According to a PTI report, out of these eight new services, four are in ‘up’ and ‘down’ direction and two trains will run during peak hours. Of the new trains, one will officially run between Virar and Churchgate stations, two between Borivali and Churchgate and one between Goregaon and Churchgate. Meanwhile, one local in the ‘down’ direction will operate between Churchgate and Nalasopara, two between Churchgate and Borivali and one between Churchgate and Goregaon.

A total of 26 AC local train services are currently running in Central Railway (CR) section. Out of these 26 services, 16 are operating on Trans Harbor line between Thane-Vashi-Panvel and remaining 10 are on mainline. The Union Railway Ministry may reduce fares and introduce more facilities to increase passengers in AC local trains. In the near future, the ministry may convert all local trains into air-conditioned coaches.
