Ashwani Sharma, retired from a multinational company living in Shastri Colony, became a victim of online fraud twice. He had ordered a shirt worth Rs 500 on an online site. When I opened the delivery packet when I came home, instead of the shirt, there were torn clothes. Sharma called up the internet search engine to find the customer care number of that online site to return the order.
On Sunday, Sharma got a call on his mobile and said that the cost of this shirt will be returned to your account. For this, the link (Any Desk) which will be sent to your phone, has to be clicked on it. Sharma believed her words. After clicking on the link, One Time Password (OTP) is also conveyed to that caller. After that mobile was hacked and money was deducted from his account.
According to Sharma, a total of Rs 2 lakh was withdrawn from his account in 5 times. It was good that in the meantime a friend of Sharma came to the spot and he got the account frozen by calling HDFC Bank from his mobile. Sharma, hurt by this fraud, says that he does not even have any pension. The thugs also robbed the accumulated capital of his life. According to Sharma, he also brought this matter to the notice of Home Minister Anil Vij, who was living in his neighbourhood. After which a case of cheating was registered against unknown in the Padav police station.
Such a pity … the thug also called abusive words
Sharma told that the fraudster is still repeatedly calling on his phone. He is asking them for bank details and OTP. Not only this, on refusing, he is also speaking abusive words. He has also informed the police in this regard.
