Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed happiness and danced over the election of Draupadi Murmu as the NDA’s presidential candidate under the leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party. The special thing is that the Chief Minister danced in tribal dress. He tweeted and wrote that before the program of gratitude to Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji and national leadership for making respected Smt. enjoyed together.

Briefing the media after the BJP Parliamentary Board meeting in New Delhi, party chief JP Nadda had announced on June 21 that former Jharkhand governor Draupadi Murmu would be the BJP-led NDA’s candidate for the presidential election. Party chief JP Nadda had said that, for the first time, preference has been given to a woman tribal candidate. The BJP Parliamentary Board discussed 20 names for the presidential candidate and it was decided to choose a tribal and woman from eastern India.

Significantly, the election for the post of President will be held on 18 July. She is the first woman governor of Jharkhand. She served as the Governor of Jharkhand from 2015 to 2021. The term of the current President Ram Nath Kovind is ending on July 24.
