Kashmiri Pandit: In the UK Parliament, an All Party Parliamentary Group of Hindus and Kashmiri Pandits living in Britain organized a tribute meeting on the completion of 33 years of the Kashmiri Pandit massacre in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. This program was done on 25 January 2023. It was hosted by British MP Bob Blackman. The purpose of this program was to tell the whole world about the brutal massacre that took place in Jammu and Kashmir 33 years ago.
In the year 1990, a condemnation motion was also distributed in protest against the massacre in Jammu and Kashmir 33 years ago, which was signed by MPs of all parties. The resolution reminded that justice is yet to be done to Kashmiri Pandits.
Reiterating his support for India and the Kashmiri Hindu community, Bob Blackman recalled how Pakistan had invaded Kashmir until Maharaja Hari Singh decided to accede to India. He added that “an effort must be made to remove the widespread ignorance of this truth in Britain and the world”.
Speaking in the program, another Member of the Parliament of Britain said that just as we should not forget about the holocaust, in the same way we should not forget this massacre.
Indian High Commission’s First Secretary Sarvjit Sudan saluted Kashmiri Pandits. He saluted the spirit of Kashmiri Pandits that even after so many years of migration, they have kept themselves strong. He said that people should remember this sacrifice and their stories should be heard.
