Union Minister Anurag Thakur is currently on a tour of West Bengal. Here the journalists questioned the ‘riot’ going on between the wrestlers and the wrestling federation. Responding to them, the Union Minister said, ‘The government heard all the wrestlers and players with patience on the allegations against the Wrestling Federation. Considering it seriously, a monitoring committee has been formed. The tournament has been put on hold with immediate effect. The committee will start work from tomorrow so that a fair investigation can be done.

Wrestling federation meeting canceled in Ayodhya

Earlier on Sunday, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) to be held in Ayodhya was cancelled. The decision came after Vinod Tomar, assistant secretary of the Wrestling Federation, was suspended on Saturday evening. Along with this, the activities of WFI were immediately banned till the investigation into the allegations of the wrestlers is completed.

Players open front against Brijbhushan

Let us tell you that recently many veteran wrestlers of the country had opened a front against the Wrestling Federation. Many wrestlers including Bajrang Punia, Vinesh Phogat and Sakshi Malik sat on a dharna at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. The players had made serious allegations against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, President of the Wrestling Federation. The wrestlers, who were staging a sit-in at Jantar Mantar, called off their sit-in after meeting Union Sports Minister Thakur on Friday.

Along with this, Sports Minister Anurag Thakur announced the formation of a monitoring committee for the Wrestling Federation. Apart from this, the Sports Minister said that the inspection committee will complete the investigation in weeks and till then the WFI President will not continue in the post of federation.
