Wrestlers Protest: The riot of the medalist wrestlers, who licked the dust of the opposing player in the arena, reached the house of Union Sports Minister Anurag Thakur late at night. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur returned from Chandigarh amid the two-day dharna and invited the wrestlers for dinner at his official residence.
After talking to the players, the Sports Minister assured the wrestlers that the entire matter would be thoroughly investigated and appropriate action would be taken against the accused. Apart from Sports Minister Anurag Thakur, SAI officials were also present in this meeting. The Sports Minister asked the wrestlers to return to practice.

Anurag Thakur asked the wrestlers to wait for 72 hours. According to sources, the ministry has agreed to make changes. New coaches and physiotherapists will be appointed. The ministry has sought answers from the wrestling federation in the whole matter by noon, as well as meeting with the wrestlers once again today.
The wrestling association has called an emergency meeting on January 22. Where speculations are being made that the president of the federation, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, may tender his resignation in this meeting. So on the other hand, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has announced that he will not resign.

Top wrestlers on Thursday vowed to intensify their protest, saying the government has given them only assurances, no “satisfying answer” and they will approach WFI president Brij Bhushan if the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) is not dissolved with immediate effect. Many FIRs will be lodged against Sharan Singh.
