A sensational incident has come to light from Muzaffarpur. Where on Wednesday in the police line, a female constable tried to commit suicide by setting her own body on fire. While extinguishing the fire, her husband also suffered serious burns. There was a stir in the police department after the incident was reported. Both were taken to SKMCH in a hurry. From there it was immediately referred. After this the policemen took him and admitted him to Apollo Hospital in Patna.
The constable has been identified as Ragini Kumari (32) and husband Munna Kumar (35) of Barh in Patna. Both also have a son and a daughter. The incident was suppressed by the police throughout the day. Eventually the matter came to the fore in the evening.
SSP Jayantakant has confirmed this. He told that the woman constable has tried to commit suicide in a domestic dispute. Her husband has also got burnt in this. The condition of the woman is more serious. She has got about 80% burns. He is finding it difficult to escape. But, he is still alive.
Brother said, don’t know why the fire started
On the information of the incident, Sanjeet Kumar, brother of the lady constable also reached the hospital. Where the police officer of Ahiyapur police station, Baneshwar Kisku, recorded his statement. In this, Sanjeet told that till date his sister had never mentioned the domestic dispute to him. He does not know why and how the fire started. However, the SSP clarified the entire matter and cited domestic dispute and quarrel between husband and wife as the reason.

It was told that the female constable is currently on the duty of security arrangements in the court premises. She lives with her husband and two children in the government quarters at Police Lines. If sources are to be believed, there were frequent fights between the two. No one has seen what happened inside the closed room today. But, it is being said that there was a fierce fight between the two. After this, the lady constable tried to commit suicide by setting her body on fire. According to the police, while trying to douse the fire, her husband also got injured.
The smell of oil was coming from the room
When the police reached there after the incident, the smell of oil was coming from the room. But whether it was kerosene oil or petrol, it is difficult to say. For this, the team of FSL will be called on Thursday. The inspector told that the incident has been executed in a closed room. The policemen had pulled both of them out by breaking the door. Both the children were not there at the time of the incident. They had gone out.
