Nepal has now secured a place in the World Cup qualifiers for the 2023 ICC World Cup which will be hosted by India. Batting first, UAE posted a mammoth score of 310 runs for the loss of six wickets. Vritya Aravind scored a brilliant 94, while Muhammad Wasim top-scored with 63.
Chasing a mammoth target of 310, Nepal were 42 runs away from victory when the umpires announced that play could not continue due to bad light. After this the match was stopped and Nepal won the match by 9 runs according to Duckworth-Lewis method. Cricket fans climbed trees to encourage their team.
